I experience epiphanies now and then, but it's more along the lines of, "Oh, THAT'S where I left my glasses." I do love the way you put your words together, and I'm glad you were able to make good decisions during that time.

I enjoy hearing you read the story. I was hoping it would be YOUR voice!

Just this evening I had an epiphany that I am in a co-dependent relationship with my career. I give and give and give and make excuses that what I get back is enough. The timing of seeing your story felt rather serendipitous even if I am on a different side of my purpose.

Well we all find ourselves in stories in different ways—they kind of form around us—somehow giving us what we need. I hope you continue to gain clarity.

Shell, you bring such breathless drama to your writing. I love how you put the words of cousin Mordecai that he spoke to Esther: "Just maybe, Esther, you were born for such a time as this." I think we all have such experiences and feelings as we travel through life's roads. It is clear that your presence initiated the events that led to your dad's survival. Are you ever going to share why your brother was/is so reluctant to speak? There's a story there. Waiting for it.

I will have to go through some psychoanalysis & study of my brother b/c at this moment, I do not have any idea. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m glad you enjoyed my story!

Those are important questions and particularly significant to those of us who happened by accident and grew up in a family that did not provide genetic clues to guide the shaping of identity.
