Welcome to my Stack of stories that might make you feel something like, “Hey we all have skeletons in our closets.” What do we do with them is the question.
I was raised by alcoholic parents, and though they were not exactly happily married, they loved me and my siblings as best they could. Growing up in a beautiful pocket on the outskirts of the city, situated in front of a little forest where we neighborhood kids played all day provided the perfect landscape for my eventual storytelling. I always wove stories in my head, but I didn’t always get them on paper.
These days, writing groups, book clubs, church studies, and nature walks keep the synapses firing in my brain. Spending time with my family energizes me, and my five precious grandchildren are like little vitamins or clear oxygen for me. Inspiring me to write.
In addition to the vignettes posted here, I have written a book that explores the theme of identity & purpose on a deeper level with family secrets splayed out, pointing others to a path to overcome these ground-shifting obstacles in life. This narrative nonfiction is in the agent-seeking phase, working toward publication. And some day we should talk about that whole process. Pitches, queries and hooks, Oh my! I think I have my title ironed out at least.

Shell, it is almost as it you are channeling me in your notes and posts. To use the colloquial: you feel me.
